What's the difference between assisted living and a residential care home?
Both are Nevada-licensed personal-care settings. Assisted living (RFG license) is typically larger — 15 to 80+ residents — with on-site activities, dining, and a more institutional model. Residential care homes (HIC license) are small board-and-care homes operating from residential properties, usually 6 to 10 residents. We list both — use the directories for each.
Do all assisted-living facilities accept Medicaid?
No. The Nevada Medicaid Waiver Personal Care Services program covers some assisted-living settings, but participation is per-facility.
